MoN, named the "Museum of Narratives (Narrative)", will celebrate its opening with the birth of the museum Narratives.
Beginning with "Once upon a time, when Takanawa was still the sea," the project traces the land's memories from the Edo to the Meiji era. Building upon this history, a project to create a new town and museum was launched. This exhibition showcases the project members, architect Kengo Kuma, and the British design studio Pentagram, detailing their conceptualizations, discussions, trial and error, and the challenges of the construction through planning documents, sketches, prototypes, interviews, and videos.
We will explore what MoN is by tracing the dynamic process by which the concept is materialized from planning to architecture and graphics. Hirake Mon! is the entrance to the museum, and also a gateway to everyone's future.
Takanawa, the gateway to exchange. Collection: Railway Museum.
