Nanafuku Tamagawa
Born in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. In 1995, she became an apprentice to the second-generation Tamagawa Fukutaro as a musical accompanist. At her master's recommendation, she also learned rōkyoku (narrative singing) and made her rōkyoku debut in 2001. In 2006, she changed her name from Mihoko to Tamagawa Nanafuku. In addition to producing various rōkyoku Event, she also works on her own new rōkyoku compositions and long-form rōkyoku, and engages in a wide range of exchanges with other genres of performing arts. As a Cultural Exchange Ambassador for the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2018, she performed in five Central European countries and seven Central Asian countries, as well as in China, South Korea, and USA. She is a recipient of the 11th Itami Juzo Award. Her published works include "Living with Naniwabushi!" (Sakura-sha) and "Perspectives on Narrative Arts - Telling, Groaning, Reading, Speaking" (Shobunsha).
