Ten years after the Kumamoto earthquake, the "Kumamoto Reconstruction Culture Festival" delivers a culture that looks forward.
April 2026 marks 10 years since the Kumamoto earthquake. In this milestone year, Kumamoto Prefecture, which continues to move strongly toward recovery and is thriving, will take over the stage of MoN Takanawa, a new cultural hub!
The "ONE PIECE Kumamoto Reconstruction Project," a collaboration between Kumamoto Prefecture and the popular manga "ONE PIECE" by Kumamoto-born cartoonist Eiichiro Oda, will feature stage performances by various cultural figures associated with Kumamoto Prefecture, including a puppet show that combines "Seiwa Bunraku," a rural performing art passed down for 170 years, with "ONE PIECE." Kumamon, the PR character for Kumamoto Prefecture, will also make an appearance to liven up Venue.
For the next 10 years, and beyond, we will deliver hope from Kumamoto Prefecture.
