Performers
Pocket Philharmonie
With the catchphrase "A Tiny, Tiny Orchestra," this compact yet high-quality next-generation musical group was born from a passionate desire to "bring the joy of orchestral music to as many people as possible." Formed under the renowned conductor Taizo Takemoto, a leading figure in concerts with accompanying video, the group comprises a select few members possessing both high technical skill and passion. Their greatest feature is the "cinema concert" style, where video and live performance are seamlessly integrated. From meticulous performances perfectly synchronized with animation footage from timeless classics like "Fantasia" and "Tom and Jerry," to live performances reviving cinematic masterpieces such as Chaplin's "City Lights" and "Modern Times," they deliver numerous moving stages that stimulate both sight and sound. From outreach activities (school and facility visits) that nurture Child 's rich sensibilities to art appreciation that enriches lifelong learning for seniors, they deliver a unique stage that captivates all generations without question. Conductor: Taizo Takemoto
He is the founder of Pocket Philharmonic. In 1977, he conducted the Berlin Philharmonic at the Karajan Competition Japan, winning second prize. Invited by Karajan himself, he joined the Berlin Philharmonic the following year, honing his skills mainly in Berlin. In addition to classical music, he has participated in numerous stage productions such as opera, ballet, and musicals, as well as music recordings, and is active in various media. He has also developed innovative music scenes such as film music and game music concerts, and has collaborated with artists across genres such as rock and pop. Furthermore, he has created orchestral scores that restore the sound used in films as faithfully as possible, and has developed a series of film music concerts with accompanying videos, which he planned and organized himself, in various locations. Rather than simply matching imagery to the performance, the live performance is exquisitely synchronized with the video, and this method has attracted attention as a new way to enjoy and a new style of film music concert. He is the conductor of Chubu Film Sounds Orchestra.
