The year is 3404, and the Earth is under the control of "electronic brains." The Earth is dying, and humanity has built and inhabited city-states deep underground. Masato Yamanobe, a second-class space warrior from Megalopolis Yamato, is pursued by the authorities for hiding Tamami, the transformed daughter of the space creature Moopy. Masato and Tamami escape to the desolate surface, hoping to seek asylum in Megalopolis Rengudo. Guided by Hinotori, they arrive at Dr. Saruta 's dome, where Dr. Saruta is conducting his own research into artificial life in an attempt to revive extinct species. Meanwhile, in the underground city, the final war finally breaks out, and humanity is wiped out.
The power of imagination is the most brilliant energy that humanity has.

    What is MANGALOGUE

"MANGALOGUE: Hinotori" is a new live manga experience that starts with the illustrations and words from Osamu Tezuka 's original manga "Hinotori," transforming the act of reading manga alone into a shared experience where everyone Venue shares Narratives.
In this performance, instead of turning the manga into a video or theatrical work, we will share the manga experience itself—including the flow of reading the pages, the perspective, and the process of becoming immersed in Narratives—as a live performance, allowing you to relive the process Narratives unfolding right there in the moment.

A new manga experience with a robotic arm

Navigating the experience is the robotic arm, "Astro Arm." Its camera at the tip projects its viewpoint onto a giant LED screen, diligently following the manga panels as if it were alive. While manga is usually read alone, here everyone present shares the same perspective, experiencing Narratives together.

Over 100 colored manuscripts by Osamu Tezuka brought to life on a giant LED screen

The performance will utilize over 100 newly colored original manuscripts, specially created TEZUKA PRODUCTIONS Co., Ltd. for screening in an LED theater. Based on the original black-and-white manuscripts drawn approximately 60 years ago, each sheet has been recolored by former assistants, respecting the original lines and page layout. By presenting the manga's artwork on a different scale and in a different environment than on paper, the audience can experience the power of the lines and the breadth of the colors from a different perspective than before.
